Yaroslav Amosov is the undefeated Bellator Welterweight champion

Bellator star Yaroslav Amosov has decided to stay in Ukraine and help his country in the ongoing war with Russia.

The 28-year-old joins a list of other top Ukrainian sport stars who have decided to take up the job of defending the country.

Vitaly and Wladimir Klitschko are two other big names who have decided to remain in the country during this testing time.

Amosov also posted a lengthy video on social media and claimed he had moved his family to a safe zone. Ringside24 carried the translated quotes from Amosov and the undefeated champion believed he could help his country win this war.

“Friends, unite, help each other, and everything will be fine with us. The truth is ours, and victory will also be ours,” Amosov said in a video message posted on Instagram.

Will Yaroslav Amosov defend his belt anytime soon?

The 28-year-old was scheduled to defend his title at Bellator London on May 13, 2022. He was to make his first title defence against Michael Page.

However, this seems to be unlikely to take place unless a resolution is finalised between Russia and Ukraine.

Bellator also have not provided an update on the situation, and it will be interesting to see what is next for Amosov.

The 28-year-old holds an incredible record of 26 wins and no losses in his MMA career. Dynamo, as he is called, became the champion after defeating Douglas Lima at Bellator 260.

This fight took place in June 11, 2021, and there is no doubt that Amosov would have been keen to defend the gold.

However, he has bigger concerns now, and hopefully, he comes out from these testing times unscathed.
