Jorge Masvidal is stepping things up with the launch of Gamebred Fights
Just ahead of his UFC 261 fight against Kamaru Usman, Masvidal announced that he will soon be launching his own promotion.
Following a disappointing KO loss at the hands of the Nigerian Nightmare, Masvidal unveiled his new MMA promotion – Gamebred Fights.
The promotion is largely inspired by Kimbo Slice’s street fights, of which Masvidal was once a part.
More recently, the UFC welterweight launched a new trailer for the first Gamebred Fights event and as expected it was all blood, gore and violence.
“Full circle. You found me, now I want to find you,” Masvidal tweeted adding the weblink to his promotion.
Masvidal has also roped in the stunning Paige VanZant as part of the commentary team for his promotion. VanZant recently left the UFC and joined Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships, and is now set to take on another UFC releasee Rachael Ostovich.
Former UFC middleweight Yoel Romero reacted to Masvidal’s latest trailer for Gamebred Fights 01. Taking to Twitter, the Soldier of God wrote, “Mi Hermano wow!”
It is worth noting that Masvidal has Cuban roots, since he was born to a Cuban father and a Peruvian mother. Coming from the same country Romero and Masvidal have always shared a brotherly bond.
Romero is currently plying his trade in the Bellator, after being released by the UFC recently. He was set to take on Anthony Johnson on his Bellator debut, but a failed medical test ruined his start. It is not clear when Romero will be fighting next.
Masvidal on the other hand, recently loss to Usman, and hasn’t talked about his future fight plans after getting his hands full with the release of his new MMA promotion.
