Zhang Weili vs Joanna Jedrejczyk has been reportedly set for UFC 275 in Singapore

As per ESPN reporter Marc Raimondi, the second chapter of the epic showdown between Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be held at UFC 275

It was during a felicitous night at UFC 248, two of the best women’s MMA fighters scripted one of the greatest fights in combat sports history. The fight transcended into mainstream news, and everyone in attendance, and people watching around the globe were knocked for six.

The night was headlined by a lacklustre display by Yoel Romero and Israel Adesanya, but MMA fans were still raving about the historic bout that they witnessed inside the cage. At first, the pace at which they fought was implausible to be sustainable for the full twenty-five minutes. But both the women kept at it and did not take a back step while constantly launching a new attack on their opponent.

Both fighters threw multiple combinations with a ferity and nasty purpose that was flabbergasting. It looked like Joanna Jędrzejczyk had the upper hand and capitalized on her championship experience. But when it seemed like Zhang Weili was fading midway through the fight, China’s first champion showcased the true grit of a champion and caught a second wind.

Weili emerged victorious, while Jonna’s head looked horrific with the tumefied face, the swollen and blackened eyes and lips.

The rematch was bound to happen considering the razor thin contest the last fight was. As per UFC’s chief business officer Hunter Campbell, the promotion finally has a date set and the pair have verbally agreed for UFC 275 on June 11th in Singapore

The news was first reported by Marc Raimondi, who tweeted by saying, ‘Arguably the greatest fight in women’s MMA history is going to be run back. Zhang Weili vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk has been verbally agreed for UFC 275 on June 11 in Singapore, UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell told ESPN. Bout agreements will be sent out shortly.’

The rematch will probably settle this rivalry once and for all, or set itself for an even greater rubber match in the future.
