UFC 264 is history and it is now time for UFC Vegas 31. The event is set to take place inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, this weekend, on the 17th of July.
The fight is headlined by a lightweight bout between surging-lightweight Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises of Brazil. Makhachev hasn’t been defeated since 2015, and has just one loss in his MMA career.
Moises is no slouch either, he is currently on a three-fight win streak. Although Moises has lost a couple of bouts, he has never been finished in his MMA career.
The co-main event features the return of Miesha ‘Cupcake’ Tate after almost five years. She takes on the ageing Marion Reneau.
Tate last fought in the year 2016, when she lost to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205. She announced her retirement following that loss, and only recently announced that she would be making a comeback.
UFC mainstay Jeremy Stephens returns to action. He will be taking on Mateusz Gamrot in a lightweight bout.
It is worth noting that Max Holloway vs Yair Rodriguez was set to be the headliner for UFC Vegas 31. Holloway pulled out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury.
