The UFC Vegas 42 certainly proved to be an eventful night. After two consecutive pay-per-views, the UFC were back at the Apex for a great night. The event was headlined by Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez which proved to be a fight to remember. Holloway put on yet another dominant performance to walk away with a victory.
Even though Rodriguez fell short of getting the job down, the Mexican won the hearts of the fans with his sheer grit and determination. Holloway now sits in line to get yet another title opportunity in his division.
Throughout the event some fighters walked away with their pockets heavy, while some were considerably underpaid. With that being said let’s have a look at the fighter salary and purse from the UFC Vegas 42 event.
Kennedy Nzechukwu earned $56,000 for his fight against Da Un Jung. Whereas, Un Jung was able to bag in $104,000. Marc Diakiese got paid $66,000 for his fight against Rafael Alves. The latter earned roughly $44,000. Cortney Casey earned a hard fought victory Liana Jojua. The former took home $139,000 whereas Jojua walked away with $24,100.
Colin Anglin bagged $24,000 for his fight against Sean Woodson. Whereas, Woodson took home $56,000. Andrea Lee earned roughly $111,000 for her fight against Cynthia Calvillo. Meanwhile, Calvillo took home $80,000 in her losing effort.
In the last fight of the prelim card Joel Alvarez produced an amazing first round finish against Thiago Moses. However, Alvarez earned only $49,000 for the victory which is less than Moses’s earning of $68,000.
Song Yadong in his victory against Julio Arce earned $90,000 whereas his opponent walked away with $66,000. Khaos Williams earned a decent $154,000 for his victory over Miguel Baeza. However, Baeza was far behind in terms of pay and earned only $40,000.
Felicia Spencer earned a great victory over Leah Letson. In the process, Spencer earned $125,000. On the other hand, her opponent earned only $22,000 in her losing effort. Marcos Rogerio de Lima secured an emphatic knockout victory over Ben Rothwell. De Lima earned roughly $155,000 whereas his opponent Rothwell took home $165,000.
The main event saw one of the most enthralling featherweight fights in the history of the company. Both Yair Rodriguez and Max Holloway left it all in the octagon in an attempt to secure the win.
Holloway was able to edge past his opponent and get the victory. Further, their fight was also awarded the fight of the night bonus worth $50,000 each. The Blessed took home a hefty check of roughly $550,000. Whereas Rodriguez earned a decent $170,000. Their earnings include the $50,000 fight of the night bonus won by them.
