UFC Vegas 43: Take a look at the results and the ones who received the bonus
The UFC stayed at their Apex facility for the UFC Vegas 43. The event was headlined by a women’s bantamweight matchup between Ketlen Vieira and Miesha Tate. The two put on a show for the fans. The match up was between the number seven and number eight ranked bantamweights in the division respectively.
For the number seven ranked Viera, it was ever so important to get a victory as she was coming off a unanimous decision loss in her last fight and she made sure to get the job done this time.
The co-main event was a welterweight clash between Michael Chiesa and Sean Brady. Chiesa, once a possible challenger for Kamaru Usman ended up falling out of the picture even further. The card had 11 fights in total divided between Preliminary and also the Main Card. With that being said let’s take a look at all the results and also the bonus winners from the UFC Vegas 43.
As usual, the UFC handed out bonuses at the end of the event. However, unlike the usual four bonuses, UFC seemed to be a little less generous for the event and only three fighters received the bonuses.
The first bonus went to both fighters from the ‘fight of the night’. Adrian Yanez and Davey Grant put on a amazing fight to walk away with extra cash. The fight already had a lot of anticipation heading into the fight because of their striking abilities and they exceeded expectations. Both fighters traded hard blows for 15 minutes and picking a winner was tough. In the end Yanez managed to walk away with a split decision victory. Both fighters also earned their right to walk away with extra $50,000.
The performance of the night bonus was handed to Taila Santos. Santos put on a amazing performance to submit her opponent Joanne Wood in the first round itself. Although wood looked to pressure Santos in the opening moments but Santos was just too good for her opponent. It is worth noting that this was also the only fight on the card that did not go the distance. Securing the only finish of the event, a hefty $50,000 was completely deserved by Santos.
