Ahead of UFC Vegas 57, we take a look at the odds, and predictions for the main card
The talent-stacked lightweight division is seeing a fresh crop of talent emerging up in ranks, and two such fighters will lock horns this weekend. Arman Tsarukyan will face Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 57 this weekend.
Arman Tsarukyan has emerged as the silent assassin of the lightweight division in recent times. With his impeccable pedigree in wrestling, and a well-rounded approach towards the game, memories of Tsarukyan dominating some of the clinch work, and grappling exchanges against an elite fighter like Islam Makhachev still runs fresh in the minds of MMA fans.
The Armenian- Russian fighter holds the coveted Master of sports title in MMA and wrestling. Arman entered the UFC with a staggering 13-1 record, with his only loss coming in his second fight via knockout. He made his UFC debut against Islam Makhachev in what was a fast-paced high-level grappling delight, with high-level wrestling exchanges. Arman lost the fight via a unanimous decision, but the fight earned him the Fight of the Night bonus.
His opponent Mateusz Gamrot is a Polish mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is also a former KSW Featherweight Champion and KSW Lightweight Champion. As of May 16, 2022, he is #12 in the UFC lightweight rankings. The black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a two-time prestigious ADCC gold medalist. This makes for an engaging and astounding grappling contest between two young lions.
While the odds favor Tsarukyan, and he has much more in-ring experience, Gamrot’s grappling credentials are no joke, and the 25 yr old Armenian is well aware of that. Arman’s path to victory would be to exploit Gamrot on the feet, and shoot for the takedown when he’s at the most vulnerable.

UFC’s welterweight division is shaping up to be the most exciting division in the promotion with fresh prospects emerging regularly. Khamzat Chimaev has been the hot topic thanks to his dominant career so far, but another name that has been running berserk in the division is Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Neil Magny defeated Max Griffin at UFC Columbus and took the mic immediately to call out Khamzat Chimaev. Magny has been wanting to fight the Chechen and has his best interest in derailing the hype train. But the UFC has handed him the uphill task of fighting the undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Shavkat Rakhmonov has had a spectacular couple of years since making his professional MMA debut in October 2014.
Born in Uzbekistan, Shavkat later received citizenship of Kazakhstan in 2017. He won the WMMAA World and Asian Championships titles as an amateur.
He made his UFC debut against Alex Oliveira at UFC 254 and even though Alex weighed in two pounds above the welterweight regulation, Shavkat won the fight via a guillotine choke submission in the first round.
Neil Magny has to approach this fight similar to how Gilbert Burns fought Khamzat Chimaev, fight fire with fire. There might be moments in the fight where he will need to chew down on the mouth piece and walk through some shots.
As for Rakhmonov, he has much more tools and paths to victory in his arsenal. If he maintains his composure, and stays sharp, he might keep his undefeated record intact.
