After undergoing shoulder surgery in 2021, Coric returned to action at the BNP Paribas Open. He took some time to get his rhythm back. Coric won his first title since his comeback at the Emilia-Romagna Open. He produced a huge upset in the Western & Southern Open by beating Rafael Nadal in the second round. Coric went on to win the title by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals. This was the first Masters title that the Croatian won in his career.

Coric’s season came to an end when he crashed out of the Paris Masters in the first round after losing to Corentin Moutet. The 26-year-old finished the season at 26th in the ATP rankings and will look to continue on his path of resurgence in the new season.

This was his debut at a Masters 1000 event. His journey ended with a loss against Casper Ruud. Cerundolo also reached the semis at the 2022 German Open. He did not have a great start at the United Cup as he lost to Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets 4-6, 2-6.
