2017 US Open runner-up Madison Keys will lock horns with the talented Marie Bouzkova in the group stage of the United Cup on Thursday.

The American tennis ace is currently at No. 11 in the WTA rankings. She managed to win one title this year and it came in just her second tournament of 2022 in Adelaide. Keys defeated Alison Riske-Amritraj to win her sixth singles title on the tour. Overall, she won 30 singles matches while having lost 20 in the year.

At the Australian Open, Keys managed to equal her best result at the tournament as she made it to the semifinals. She lost to eventual champion Ashleigh Barty in a lopsided affair. The 27-year-old produced another good result at the Western & Southern Open as she made it to the semis. Her run was ended by Petra Kvitova.

Marie Bouzkova

The 24-year-old finished the year at a career-high ranking of world No. 24 after having a memorable season on the tour. She won her first WTA Tour-level title at the Prague Open, much to the delight of her home crowd. The youngster from the Czech Republic impressed at Wimbledon as she made it to the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time.

Marie Bouzkova

Bouzkova finished the season on a high as she reached the semifinals of the Guadalajara Open. This was her first appearance in the semis of a WTA 1000 event. She was eventually ousted by Maria Sakkari.

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 1-0 in favor of Madison Keys. She defeated Bouzkova in the round of 32 of the 2020 Brisbane International in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
