3-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka is all set to begin yet another season on the tour. He recently played in the exhibition tournament at Saudi Arabia – Diriyah Tennis Cup. At the event, Wawrinka produced fine wins against Matteo Berrettini and Andrey Rublev before going down to defending champion Daniil Medvedev in the semis.

In 2022, Wawrinka won 8 matches and lost 14 on the tour. During the course of the year, he dropped out of the top 300 and later came back into the top 150.

Alexander Bublik

The current Kazakhstani No. 1 won 33 matches and lost 27 on the tour in 2022. He also won his first ATP tour-level singles title at the Open Sud de France.

Bublik’s season came to an end with an exit in the round of 64 at the Paris Masters. Bublik managed to break into the top 30 in the ATP rankings for the first time, earlier this year. He is currently placed at No. 37 and hope to move northwards as the season begins.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

Alexander Bublik leads the head-to-head scoreline 2-0. Both of those encounters came in 2022. The 25-year-old won one match in three sets at the Monte-Carlo Masters while the experienced campaigner had to retire in the middle of their other meeting that came at the Moselle Open.

Prediction: Stan Wawrinka to win in three sets.
