She began this year’s US Open campaign with a comfortable win against Catherine Harrison. Sabalenka had to dig deep in her second-round match against the 37-year-old Kaia Kanepi. The Estonian won the first set convincingly before Sabalenka fought hard to win the second. The Belarusian eventually won the match 2-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4. In the third round, Sabalenka made light work of Clara Burel.

The American tennis pro began the year on a positive note, reaching the Australian Open final before being ousted by Ashleigh Barty. She also made it to the quarterfinals at Miami. Collins has reached the fourth round at the US Open for the first time in her career.

The 28-year-old has won all her three matches at this year’s US Open in straight sets. She began the campaign by knocking out 4-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka. In the second round, she defeated Cristina Bucsa. Alize Cornet met her in the third round. In a closely-fought match, Collins got the better of the Frenchwoman 6-4, 7-6 (11-9).
