The 24-year-old Frances Tiafoe pulled off the upset of the tournament in the fourth round when he defeated Rafael Nadal. He will face the 9th seed Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinal.

The World No. 26 has not won a title in 2022 thus far but he has made it to the finals of the Estoril Open. Tiafoe also made it to the Atlanta Open semifinal.
The American defeated Marcos Giron in straight sets to kickstart the campaign. In the second round, he defeated Jason Kubler in straight sets. The impressive run continued in the third round as he defeated the Argentine Diego Schwartzman in straight sets. The biggest moment in Tiafoe’s career came in the fourth round when he defeated the legendary Rafael Nadal in four sets.
Andrey Rublev
The Russian tennis pro won three titles in 2022 as of now. He won the Open 13 in Marseille followed by the Dubai Tennis Championships. Rublev also won the Serbia Open after beating Novak Djokovic in the final.
Rublev began his campaign against Laslo Djere. The Serbian pushed the match into the fifth set but Rublev eventually got the victory. In the second round, Rublev defeated Kwon Soon-woo comprehensively in straight sets. Rublev’s third-round match against Denis Shapovalov was decided in the fifth set. In the fourth round, the 24-year-old outplayed Cameron Norrie in straight sets.
