Usain St. Leo Bolt is a retired Jamaican sprinter who is considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time.
Bolt started sprinting while he was in primary school and in the 2001 CARIFTA Games, Bolt clocked a personal best time of 48.28 s in the 400 meters and won the silver medal. He also participated in the 200m and won a silver, finishing in 21.81s.
He made his first appearance on the world stage at the 2001 IAAF World Youth Championships in Debrecen, Hungary. He ran the 200m event but failed to for the finals. Nevertheless, he still set a new personal best of 21.73 s.
In 2004, Bolt turned professional and was under the guidance of a new coach, Fitz Coleman. He then headed to the 2004 Athens Olympics but was eliminated in the first round of the 200 meters with a disappointing time of 21.05 s. Apparently, he was suffering from a leg injury at that time.
