Vader started his career as a football player and was recruited by forty colleges. He used to play offensive line at the University of Colorado. Vader was drafted to NFL in 1978 as a center by Los Angeles Rams.

Vader started with the ring name Baby Bull for the American Wrestling Association in 1987, and this name was later changed to Bull Power. 

White went into play for many international independent circuits like Catch Wrestling Association, winning his first championship title. Then he went to New Japan Pro wrestling, where he spent 2 years of his career and was named Big Van Vader. He used to wear a black wrestling mask. He also played for IWGP and UWA before joining the WCW in 1990.

He played his first match at The Great American Bash, where he defeated Tom Zenk in just two minutes. After that, he defeated Sting to become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

At the Clash of Champions XXIX, Vader defeated Dustin Rhodes and earned the opportunity to face the United States Heavyweight Champion Jim Duggan at Starrcade, where he defeated Duggan and won the United States Heavyweight Championship.

In 1996, one name, “The Man They Call Vader,” was heavily hyped on WWF for the 1996 Royal Rumble. Vader made his first WWF appearance as a participant in the Royal Rumble Match. 

Vader faced off against The Undertaker at Royal Rumble. During the match, Taker’s former manager Paul Bearer attacked him, helped Vader win, and became Vader’s manager.

Vader was born on May 15, 1955, in Lynwood, California. His father was in US Marine and also an underwater welder for the US Navy. 

White married his wife, Grace Connelly, White’s one and only son Jesse White was born on April 19, 1986.

The Big Man went through heart surgery and followed by another treat of arrhythmia. Vader died on June 18, 2018, after a month-long hospitalization for pneumonia. He was 63 years old.
