23-time Grand Slam Champion Serena Williams gifted her elder sister Venus, a new Gucci tracksuit seen in her recent post on Instagram.
Her caption read:
“Sisters give good gifts.”
Both sisters who have been dominating players in their era are now reaching the twilight of their careers. They have won 22 titles when playing doubles together, including 14 Grand Slam titles and 3 Olympic gold medals.
Williams, 40, a seven-time Australian Open singles champion, has not played on the WTA Tour since June at Wimbledon because of an injured right hamstring. She is touted to announce her retirement from the sport this year.
The other sister, Venus, 41, continues to play on the singles circuit on the WTA Tour. The sisters have been playing professionally for over two decades now.
Williams has spent a total of 319 weeks at No 1. She has won 13 Grand Slam singles titles on hardcourt – a record in the history of the sport, of her 23 overall. Her legacy will be grand in tennis history. Talking on ET, she revealed her plans after tennis:
, “I am prepared for that day, I’ve been prepared for that day for over a decade. If you’ve seen King Richard — you know that my dad always said you got to prepare, so I’ve been prepared for that. You know, at the end of the day, I think it’s really important to always have a plan and that’s kind of what I did. I always had a plan.”
Williams will hope to return this season, after missing over 7 months out due to her hamstring injury. If this is her last season in a staggering career, she would want to end it on the TOP.
