Gilles Cervara, the coach of Daniil Medvedev, displayed some impressive juggling skills which the Russian couldn’t replicate

All tennis players need great reactions to do well on the court but the coach of Daniil Medvedev, Gilles Cervara, seems to have that in bulk.

Cervara won the Coach of the Year at the 2019 ATP awards for all the work he did with the Russian.

Medvedev, for his part, reached the US Open final in 2019 and even reached a career-high ranking of #4.

2020 hasn’t gone all that well for the Russian. He was eliminated in the fourth round of the Australian Open. Things didn’t improve for him at Rotterdam too as he lost in the first round.

His spirit doesn’t seem to have gone down though as he tried to show off his juggling skills. While Medvedev struggled to juggle three balls, his French coach impressed with his ability.

Cervara was able to easily juggle three water bottles, which is no easy feat. The 38-year-old did drop one of the bottles in the end, but he certainly was better than Medvedev.

The Frenchman beat several top names such as Nicholas Massu (Dominic Thiem’s coach) and Carlos Moya (Rafael Nadal’s coach) to win the title last year.

This season might not have gone well for Medvedev but there are several tournaments left in the year.

The Russian will have to prepare for the French Open next and it will be interesting to see how he does on the clay courts.

He has exited Roland Garros in the first round since 2017, and Cervara has some work to do to avoid that happening this time again.

Medvedev is considered as one of the next gen players and the Russian has to start delivering on the big stage consistently now.
