Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo revealed why he leaves games early leaving fans in splits.
Recently, a video of Giannis from the NBA Finals in 2021 went viral. It has to do with the NBA Finals in Milwaukee, where Giannis Antetokounmpo left early in both Games 3 and 4.
Pat Connaughton replaced the two-time MVP of the Bucks at 8:29 of the first quarter in Game 4 and 8:30 of the first quarter in Game 3. Was he injured? Did he require a break? Was Mike Budenholzer, the coach of the Bucks, adjusting his lineup to confuse the Phoenix Suns? Giannis’ response will have you rolling on the floor in laughter because it is nothing like that.
“How sweetly do you people speak?” stated Antetokounmpo. “I headed out for a tinkle. One tinkle? Yes, indeed. I went to the restroom and then came back. Is that it? Yes, that is courteous. Tinkle is courteous, I guess.” He replied after Game 4.
To Antetokounmpo’s remark, the assembled media erupted in laughter. It followed the star’s contribution to the Bucks’ 109-103 victory against Phoenix inside Fiserv Forum, which helped the team square the series at 2-2. In that game, Antetokounmpo had 26 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.
“Coach, if I need like 30 seconds or one minute, I’m going to let you know, I have always said in conversation.” After Game 3, Antetokounmpo remarked. “And I believe I needed that period of time—probably between 30 and 60 seconds—to gather my strength before returning to the game. Nothing was wrong with me.” This was the statement after game 3.
Requiring a little tinkle break at work NBA stars who often display superhuman strength never seemed more familiar to basketball fans with average athletic ability.
One fan tweeted, “Giannis shares some insight on how he overcame free throw woes and finals anxiety. Likely the cause for those “tinkle breaks”, was just calming down. Much respect for Giannis being so self aware, seeking help, and managing it.” while another added, “Over/under on how quickly Giannis takes his first break to tinkle tonight? 4 minutes in?:,
