Angle gives his opinion on NXT Cage Fight

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle explained that the Cage Fight can be won only by tap out or submission.

WWE announced yesterday Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will be returning to Wednesday’s NXT to be the special guest referee for the Cage Fight between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher.

Angle confirmed the news yesterday but also posted a video earlier today about his upcoming appearance.

“Two days ago, I was contacted by my old friend, GM of NXT William Regal,” Angle said. “He came up with an innovative way to settle the score between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher. It’s a Cage Fight. Not a Cage Match, a Cage Fight, and there are only two ways to win: knockout or tap out. So, this Wednesday night, yours truly, Kurt Angle, will be the referee for this fight. Thatcher vs. Riddle. Cage Fight. Oh, it’s true, it’s damn true.”

Angle was among those who were released by WWE, last month.

Angle loses to Corbin in the final game

Baron Corbin beat Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday in what was billed as the final match of the Olympian’s illustrious career. Angle went for a big risk and attempted a moonsault off of the top rope but missed. Corbin immediately capitalized and hit the End of Days for the win.

Corbin and Angle have some history with The Lone Wolf taking over as the interim Raw general manager after the Olympian was removed from the position. Although Angle did his best to hype up the match against Corbin, there was still a feeling of indifference regarding the bout leading up to WrestleMania, which shouldn’t have been the case with his legendary career coming to an end.
