Conor McGregor is known for his special ‘walk’ and the McLaren pair of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris tried to copy this

Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz tried copying MMA star Conor McGregor’s famous walk and spectacularly failed.

The pair, who are set to feature for McLaren in the 2020 F1 season, are known for having a bit of fun outside the racing track.

Norris is the unofficial Meme Lord of F1 and has often posted funny memes on his social media profiles.

Sainz, for his part, might be the more measured of the teammates, but the Spaniard is prone to breaking out and singing his ‘Smooth Operator’ over the radio after a race.

This time, they tried to replicate the ‘Swagger walk’ of McGregor and just couldn’t match up with the UFC star.

Sainz seemed to be incredibly stiff while Norris, for some reason, resembled a chicken doing a walk.

Of course, all of this was done in jest and McGregor wouldn’t be too fussed about the McLaren stars trying to impersonate him.

The internet, however, had a blast regarding this, and here are some of the reactions from Twitter:

McLaren aiming to improve

The 2019 F1 season was great for McLaren as they finished fourth and also had a podium to celebrate.

Zak Brown has claimed that the team wants to keep pushing but added that battling the top three would be difficult.

Nevertheless, there are some great things in store for McLaren in 2021. A regulations change means they could get a great car and with Mercedes replacing Renault as their power unit, they should have the engine to battle the top teams.

Norris and Sainz are also two of the most talented racers on the grid, and it will be interesting to see where they finish this season.
