Djokovic, the reigning Australian Open champion, is making the best out of his time off the court by preparing for the upcoming season with new ways.
The Serbian displayed a special method for his fans by posting a video on Instagram. The video highlighted how the 32-year-old spent close to two minutes in a cold water stream.
The 32-year-old, following the instructions of extreme athlete Dutchman Wim Hof, undertook the new initiative by taking a dip in a mountain stream, at the same time, paying attention to a few breathing exercises

“Constantine and I also survived the mountain stream for a minute and 45 seconds. It’s all about the mindset. Practicing this kind of bath seems crazy, but very important for mind and body training. Through various techniques (like breathing) we can calm ourselves enough to we are in extreme conditions such as these and it is easier for us to deal with everyday stress.
“I use Vim’s methods and they are very useful to me in life. ‘Mind Above Things, Brain Above Body’. I advise everyone to explore and try this challenge. “
Djokovic offers caution
A tenacious worker, Djokovic, offered words of caution by sharing a word of warning before taking up the challenge
“Those who laugh, I challenge you to spend at least one minute in icy water. It must be winter and it should be icy outside, you only need to be in swimwear, half of your body must be underwater, you must spend at least a minute in the water. be sure and get ready because it can be quite dangerous if you don’t follow Wim’s advice,”
Djokovic is one of the top tennis stars in the world and his mental fortitude was in show in the 2020 Australian Open final.
He seemed set to lose the final against Dominic Thiem but fought back to win the clash in five sets.
