A video of World No.2 Rafael Nadal cleaning his gym equipment at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy went viral recently.
The video was posted by a girl named Madison Mcleod. The youngster witnessed Nadal cleaning the treadmill with a towel while she was walking past him.
Madison shared the video of her idol through her social media page Instagram which soon made rounds on the internet.
Despite being one of the biggest tennis stars on the planet, Nadal’s display of humility is a lesson and inspiration to many aspiring athletes from across the globe.
In the video, Nadal could be seen wiping the sweat off the treadmill and receiving accolades from fans and followers for his simple but humble gesture.
Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal’s coach and former player Carlos Moya believes that the Spaniard will continue playing tennis as long as he is playing well and remains injury-free.
Nadal is currently 33-years-old and has played 1185 singles matches, bagged 19 Grand Slam titles and won over $120million in prize money over the years.
“[I] do not [know]. For me, Nadal remains for a while,” he told Spanish publication Las Provincias when asked if Nadal or his backroom team knew when the player would retire.
“He is playing well and [without] injury. When you combine all of that, he will remain for a while.”
Nadal has been suffering from injuries and they seemed to have taken a toll with the player. The Spaniard even considered shutting down his season in April last year as he struggled with a knee problem.
However, luck seems to have favoured Nadal, who made it till the quarterfinals of the Australian Open earlier this year.
