Rafael Nadal is the current World No.2 and has 19 Grand Slam titles to his name

World No.2 Rafael Nadal was seen practising at his ‘Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy’ in Mallorca on Friday.

Nadal is making the best use of the time before the clay-court season kicks off. The Spaniard would be aiming for a record 13th title at the French Open.

Nadal did not have the best of starts to the season as he crashed out of the Australian Open in the quarterfinals losing to eventual runner-up Dominic Thiem.

Nadal also took a dip in a beach recently. The Spaniard even posted some of it on his Instagram account.

However, it seems he is never quite the one to take much time off the court as it was evident from his training sessions at his academy.

Medvedev feels Nadal has an advantage

Meanwhile, Nadal’s on-court rival and one of the ‘Next Gen’ stars, Daniil Medvedev believes the Spaniard has an advantage over Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Medvedev was mentioning the Roland Garros tournament, which is the next Grand Slam tournament in line.

Medvedev feels that beating Nadal on clay would be a tough challenge. Which gives him a slight edge over the other ‘Big Two’ in winning the maximum number of Major titles.

“I have not played against him on clay,” Medvedev said. “It is not the best surface for me. But of course, when you look at the percentage of Nadal victories on the surface in general and Roland Garros in particular, it can definitely be described as the biggest challenge today.”

“Yes, it is true that Rafa has an advantage called Roland Garros,” Medvedev concluded.
