According to Daily Mail, Norwich City and Watford have been offered the chance to sign AC Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia.
Lucas Biglia, 33, moved to AC Milan from Lazio in the summer of 2017, but injuries have hampered his impact at the club. The Argentinean has made 66 first-team appearances for Milan but has made just seven outings in Serie A this season, and now looks set to be moved on.
La Liga side Celta Vigo have also been given the opportunity to sign the holding midfielder, the report adds.
Speaking about Premier League clubs — Norwich and Watford — Biglia would be a good fit for either of the two. Norwich have been quick to address their problems by signing Ondrej Duda on loan from Hertha Berlin and Lukas Rupp from Hoffenheim. They are reeling at the bottom of the table and have not won a Premier League game since beating Everton at Goodison Park in November.
As the league progresses, things are looking bleak for the Canaries and Daniel Farke must look to recruit more this month. But having addressed the midfield, signing Biglia would make very little sense for Norwich. To put things plainly, Watford must do everything possible to sign Biglia this month.
Nigel Pearson has used Will Hughes in a deeper role alongside Etienne Capoue, handing Abdoulaye Doucoure an advanced role. The plan has worked wonders, with the Hornets winning four out of their last five games. In the process, they have gotten out of the relegation zone.
However, Pearson could do with an extra body in the midfield in order to stay in the top-flight. Thus, the signing of Biglia would make sense for Watford.
Biglia has proven to be one of the most reliable midfielders in Serie A over the last seven years. At the age of 33, he has lost a yard or two of pace but his reading of the game and passing range remain the same.
As for Watford, a player like Biglia in the roster would be a solid coup.
