Why West Bromwich Albion should get Neeskens Kebano
If there is one thing West Bromwich Albion need to help them improve their position in the Championship this season – it’s an attacking midfielder. The Baggies only have Wesley Hoolahan for that role and he’s 36 years old, not getting any younger. Now, the ESPN has revealed that the club are after out-of-favour Fulham star Neeskens Kebano.
The 26-year-old hasn’t been able to make too much of an impact this season for the Cottagers, with just five appearances to his name. A vast majority of them have been off the bench and to make things worse. The arrival of Jean Michel Seri, Andre Schurrle and a few others have changed his position at the club in terms of pecking order.
That’s exactly why the ESPN have revealed that with Fulham ready to sell Neeskens Kebano along with two others stars, it’s the right time for Darren Moore to make a move for the Congo international before someone else does. The Birmingham Mail has also revealed that Leeds United, Middlesbrough and even Aston Villa are all in the race for the attacking midfielder.
A versatile player, Neeskens Kebano can play in multiple positions which include as a centre-midfielder or even as a second striker if needed. But he excels better as an attacking midfielder, with the 26-year-old producing a goal or an assist every 3.6 games in his last two seasons with Fulham. He has excelled a fair bit in the Championship in the past, which should attract West Brom’s interest further.
While Kebano has had his obvious struggles with adaptation, the Congo star could do so once again by playing in England’s second division. Not to mention, Hoolahan is 36 years old and ten years older than Kebano, that does mean any move would see the latter slip straight into the starting eleven.
In combination with his pace, agility and creativity in the final third, Kebano will effectively help West Brom make that jump into the top two in the table and get automatically promoted to the Premier League.

However, to do that, first, they need to confirm and convince Kebano that he has a chance of reviving his career at the Hawthorns. If they manage to do that, the chances of being in the top two would enhance two-fold.
