Know all you need to know about FTR in AEW
FTR is a professional wrestling Tag Team in the AEW promotion. They consist of wrestlers Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood with their manager Tully Blanchard.
They initially made their debut on WWE NXT under the name of the name of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson. In WWE the duo was called The Revival. The Revival’s name was a reference to reviving the old school Tag Team wrestling style.
The Revival aka FTR was pretty successful in WWE. They were praised for their old school style and also breaking the boundaries as a team. They won the Tag Team Championship at NXT, Raw and also SmackDown making them the first ever team to do so. The Revival aka FTR left the WWE to join AEW in 2020.
The Duo made their AEW on May 27, 2020. The full form of FTR being “Fu** The Rest, For The Revolt and Fear The Revolt.”
Shortly after their debut in AEW, FTR was able to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship after defeating Kenny Omega and Adam Page. This made them the first duo to win the Tag Team Championship in both WWE and AEW.
On November 7th 2020 episode of Full Gear, the FTR eventually lost their Tag Team Championship to Young Bucks. In 2021, FTR joined hands with MJF, Michael Wardlow and Shawn Spears to attack the Inner Circle which is led by Chris Jericho. Later this new group came to be known as The Pinnacle.
FTR’s individual journey
Cash Wheeler
Cash Wheeler was born on May 17, 1987 in Asheville, North Carolina, US. He made his professional wrestling debut at the age 18 when he wrestled under the ring name of Steven Walters. Wheeler was an independent wrestler for nine years before WWE came calling.
Wheeler made his debut on NXT in 2014. Upon his debut he was paired with Dax Harwood aka Scott Dawson at that time. The duo went on to form The Revival. In 2020 however, the duo left WWE to join AEW as mentioned earlier.
Dax Harwood
Dax Harwood was born in Whiteville, North Carolina, US on 30th June 1984. He made his professional wrestling debut in 2004 when he was 20 years old. Just like his FTR team mate Harwood was an independent wrestler. Harwood was signed by the WWE in 2012. Where he took up the ring name of Scott Dawson.
Harwood was paired with Wheeler in 2014 and the duo went on to be one of the best Tag Teams in the company. His team the FTR has also been pretty successful in AEW.
