Drew McIntyre wasn’t done with the wrestling after WWE WrestleMania 36 ended on Sunday
Drew McIntyre finally broke the WWE ceiling, at least for himself, as he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 on Sunday.
The Scottish star was on his second run in the business and had been looking to exorcise some demons from his past.
McIntyre won the 2020 Royal Rumble, and eliminated Lesnar in that clash. However, the Scot had been a thorn in the side of the Beast in the run-up to WrestleMania.
Lesnar, for his part, came out flying in the main event of WrestleMania 36 day 2, and hit McIntyre with all he had.
However, the Scottish Psychopath was able to kick out of several finishers. That got Lesnar upset and it was McIntyre who took advantage of the situation.
He hit Lesnar with multiple Claymores and finally became the WWE champion. Emotion certainly got hold of McIntyre as he became the king of the mountain, but his work wasn’t done yet.
The new champion was sharing his thoughts after an incredible WrestleMania but there was more to come.
What happened to Drew McIntyre as WWE WrestleMania 36 ended?
While WrestleMania 36 went off air with the new champ celebrating, we learned more about it on Raw.
Normally the Raw after WrestleMania is one of the biggest shows of the year, but WWE badly messed up everything.
Many of the matches or segments didn’t hit the mark, and it was then revealed that the real main event of WrestleMania 36 wasn’t McIntyre vs Lesnar.
The Big Show came out to challenge a tired McIntyre after the so-called main event of WrestleMania. Not only that, Show came out to challenge for the WWE title, and the Scot accepted that fight.
What happened next was expected as McIntyre beat Show and kept hold of the WWE title. However, this was a bit of a downer on Monday as many would have expected McIntyre to feature on the show and speak out.
The Scot was missing and neither was the Beast there. WWE played out this segment from WrestleMania which was the main event of Raw.
Now that is a bit of a low blow to the fans who watched WrestleMania over two days. Sure, WWE needs to work with a lot of restrictions, but they could have aired another package of McIntyre speaking to the fans as he recovered after a brutal fight.
They could have done a lot more, and it was really upsetting as to how WWE could drop the ball so much after such a fantastic WrestleMania.
