What is Morgpie real name? Learn all there is to know as the streamer took the world by storm with the latest change in Twitch guidelines.

Twitch streamer ‘Morgpie,’ (real name Morgan Stone) famous for popularizing the ‘t*pless’ meta going viral on the site, has responded after the platform made big changes to its guidelines on sexual content. Twitch has been inundated with various ‘metas’ in the past that many viewers believed skirted the site’s guidelines on sexual content. For instance, Twitch’s infamous hot tub meta took over the internet in 2021 until the platform created a new category specifically for those kinds of streams.

In December 2023, a new meta went viral on Twitch, where female streamers would appear to broadcast while t*pless. Cosplayer, streamer, and OnlyFans model Morgpie popularized this meta after a clip from her broadcast went viral on Twitter/X. The strategy sparked outrage online from viewers who demanded Twitch make changes to what is and isn’t allowed on their website — and on December 13, Twitch obliged.

The site rolled out major changes to its policies on sexual content, most notably now allowing “content that ‘deliberately highlights br*asts, b*ttocks or pelvic region,’ even when fully clothed,” provided it is properly labeled. That’s not all; content that is labeled as “Drugs, Intoxication, or Excessive Tobacco Use; Violent and Graphic Depictions; Gambling; and/or Sexual Themes” will no longer appear on Twitch’s home page.

What did Morgpie have to say about the recent changes to the Twitch guidelines?

Morgpie, who received a ban from Twitch amid the outrage over her ‘t*pless’ streams on December 11 and is still banned, actually had praise for the platform’s big changes. In an exclusive statement to Dexerto, Morgpie applauded Twitch for allowing mature content, calling its adjustments to the homepage a win for everyone.

“I care about Twitch as a platform, and I care about whether or not inappropriate content is being pushed to the wrong audience,” she told Dexerto. “With the updated terms of service, content on Twitch containing mature themes will be allowed but no longer pushed on the homepage of the site. I think this is the best possible outcome, because it gives creators much more freedom, while also keeping this content from reaching the wrong audience. Bravo, Twitch!”

At the time of writing, Morgpie remains banned on Twitch — and while she didn’t disclose the length of her ban, she did say she has a major comeback planned for the future.

What are the changes that took place in Twitch’s guidelines?

The update follows the widespread “t*pless meta” backlash, after streamer and OnlyFans model Morgpie went viral for appearing naked in recent streams.

Morgpie’s “t*pless” streams were framed to show her bare shoulders, upper chest, and cle*vage. The framing implied n*dity, but never actually showed content that explicitly violated Twitch’s sexual content policies. Other streamers, who were predominantly male, were enraged by Morgpie’s content and called for Twitch to crack down on the apparent n*dity. She was banned on Dec. 11, two days before Twitch’s content guideline overhaul. Jessica Ly, a streamer who also goes by asianbunnyx, has made similar content without being banned.

The new policy Is meticulously detailed and accounts for various situations, but also appears to contradict itself. Cartoon b*obs, for example, are only allowed in certain contexts. “Fictionalized” — drawings, animations or sculpted renderings — of fully-exposed br*asts and any b*tts or genitals regardless of gender are fine, but “augmented reality avatars that translate real-life movement into digital characters” (read: VTubers) must abide by the same attire requirements as regular streamers. Actual female-presenting human n*pples must be covered. Cleavage is still “unrestricted.” Showing “underbust” is still forbidden.

Twitch’s stance on sideb*ob remains unclear. A spokesperson for Twitch told TechCrunch that the platform has been overhauling its content moderation for the past year, and has focused on updating its community guidelines in response to feedback from streamers. By clarifying what is and isn’t allowed, Twitch believes that it’ll be easier for streamers to comply with its policies. The spokesperson also noted that the platform is still experimenting with nuance and context, and rather than lean on punitive content moderation, Twitch wants users to be informed.

In its Sexual Content Policy, Twitch notes that the attire allowed on the platform depends on the context of individual streams. An outfit that’s permitted for a beach or gym stream, Twitch said in its Community Guidelines, may “not be acceptable for a cooking or gameplay broadcast.” The company also said that attired “intended to be sexually suggestive” is still prohibited, which seems like it could still disproportionately affect female streamers who can be sexualized by viewers no matter what they wear.
