Johnny Gargano is one of the most experienced WWE wrestlers and here is all you need to know about his net worth, wrestling history, wife and more
Johnny Gargano has been tearing it up on NXT for the past three years or so but he is one of the most experienced wrestlers in America.
The 32-year-old might not have featured many times on Raw or SmackDown, but that doesn’t take away the immense work he has done in the indies.
Gargano is one of the few stars to wrestler under his real name. He started training when he was in high school and has never looked back.
As is the case with many stars from the indies, Gargano has featured in several promotions. He started off his career in 2005 for CAPW (Cleveland All–Pro Wrestling) and has grown in the years ahead.
It was during this time that he had try-outs at several major promotions but things didn’t click. Gargano featured thrice for WWE in various capacities but was never handed a contract to continue his run.
The 32-year-old has fought in Absolute Intense Wrestling, Prime Wrestling, Chikara, Dragon Gate and Evolve and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
Apart from these promotions, he has featured in several others too and has won titles galore. Gargano has won individual and tag team belts during his time in all these promotions and was working in them until 2015.
Gargano got the call-up to NXT in 2015 and made several appearances, despite not being under contract.
However, he did sign a contract in 2016 which also allowed him to feature on other promotions. He started off as a singles wrestler before being teamed up with Tommaso Ciampa.
The pair were called #DIY and won the NXT Tag titles too, but this was broken up later on as Ciampa turned on his friend.
Despite falling out with Ciampa, he was able to win the NXT Championship in 2019. He defeated Adam Cole to lift the title and became the first Triple Crown champion at NXT.
He had won the NXT North American title prior to this but lost the NXT title to Cole after keeping it for 57 days.
Gargano recently was involved in another feud with Ciampa, and this was their final meeting on NXT. It was Gargano that got the win thanks to some help from his wife, Candice LeRae, and the pair have turned heel too.
Gargano and LeRae were engaged in 2016. The pair later married in September 2016, and have been seen several times on NXT.
Their new storyline seems to highlight that they will be seen together on NXT a lot. Gargano and LeRae have also cut several promos together, and have also shared a lot of photos on social media.
Gargano is one of the biggest names in the wrestling business, and his experience is top-notch too.
Estimates suggest that he has a net worth of over $1million while some say it could be up to $5million.
However, that seems to be a little steep given that he hasn’t featured on the top WWE brands or even picked up one of the bigger titles.
