Velveteen Dream is one of the rising stars in WWE and here is all you need to know about his family, net worth and more
WWE NXT star Velveteen Dream is an enigmatic character that the company has come up with. There is a different aura whenever Dream comes walking down the ramp, and he genuinely is one of the most interesting characters of NXT.
Patrick Clark Jr might be only 24, but he is certainly destined for great things in the future. Dream made his wrestling debut only in 2014 but has come a long way.
Dream started off his wrestling career at Maryland Championship Wrestling. He won the tag titles at MCW with former WWE star Lio Rush, who was recently released by the company.
Clark also fought in other indie promotions such as World Xtreme Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling.
His break came in 2015 as he was selected for WWE Tough Enough season six. However, Velveteen Dream was eliminated from Tough Enough despite being one of the favourite to win.
He was handed a developmental contract from WWE and made his NXT Live event debut on February 2016. He also faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura but his Dream persona came out in 2017.
The new Prince-themed character was debuted in May 2017. Dream fought several top stars on NXT such as Aleister Black but his rise continued throughout the years.
In 2019, he beat Tyler Bate to earn a shot at any NXT or NXT UK title. Dream decided to take on Johnny Gargano for the NXT North American title and he won that bout.
The Dream then defended his title against the likes of Murphy, Tyler Breeze, Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong.
However, he lost the title to Strong later due to the interference of the Undisputed Era. The Dream was nursing an injury and was out of action from late 2019 due to a back problem.
However, he recovered from that issue and came back to challenge for Adam Cole’s NXT World title.
Not much is known about Clark’s family but he does have a cousin in the world of wrestling. The 24-year-old’s cousin, Amber Rodriguez is also a wrestler who has featured in several indie promotions.
The Velveteen Dream is still a youngster in the world of wrestling but his net worth in 2020 is pretty good.
Reports suggest that the Dream has a net worth which ranges between $500,000 and $2million. However, some others claimed that his previous net worth was close to $1million and that had raised to over $5m in 2020, which seems a little too much.
The Dream hasn’t had it all easy in his WWE career though. He was involved in a huge scandal where some of his private photos were sent to minors.
Dream denied he was responsible for this and claimed someone else sent these private photos to the minors. He even confirmed some third parties were working to solve the situation, but we haven’t heard much about that since.
