Hawaii has been engulfed in devastating wildfires and the UFC have helped out with their Hawaii shirt and more
Brad Tavares, who was in action at UFC 292, wore a special UFC Hawaii shirt after his win over the returning Chris Weidman.
Tavares is from Hawaii and the region has been affected by severe wildfires that have caused a lot of destruction over the past few days.
The American’s wife is also from the Maui region, which has been affected the most.
While aid has been coming form several regions to help the affected region, the UFC also decided to create a special Hawaii T-shirt, which is available on their website.
The charity T-shirt is priced at $30 and comes in a range of sizes. The UFC’s site adds that through sales of the clothing, the promotion is raising awareness and fundraising support for the “communities affected by the wildfires on Maui.”
This is still available to order, however, the website adds that all products will be shipped together at a later date.
The UFC also donates $1million to help fight Hawaii wildfires
UFC president Dana White had earlier brought up the terrible ongoings in Hawaii. He pledged that the UFC would be donating $1million to help fight those in need, and also brought up this special Hawaii shirt from the UFC.
The wildfires make for grim reading in the region. Reports suggest that 111 have been killed so far, and more than 2,200 acres were burned during the 8 August wildfires.
The same report from USA Today adds that the Hawaii wildfires are one of the top 10 most worst wildfires in history.
The region has been greatly affected and there have been several locations across the world that have been hit by wildfires in recent years.
A lot of property has been damaged as well, and this is a tough time for all those connection to Hawaii.
