Bobby Green is the talk of the UFC world but what is his ranking in the promotion?
Bobby Green is in the news for taking up a UFC fight on short notice but even with an impressive win in his last outing, the MMA veteran is unranked in the promotion.
Green has 42 fights to his name and is a former King of the Cage lightweight and junior welterweight champion.
The 35-year-old has had some impressive wins in his UFC career but is currently unranked in the promotion.
That isn’t to say he isn’t a poor fighter. Further, it seems like he is always ready for a battle as we have seen thanks to some recent news.
Islam Makhachev was to fight Beneil Dariush in a huge Fight Night main event on February 26.
However, in the lead up to the event Dariush had to pull out due to a foot injury. In normal circumstances, Makhachev would have to also cancel his plans for his fight.
However, the UFC moved quickly and matched the unranked Green against the fast-rising Makhachev.
Makhachev vs Dariush was to be a no.1 contender’s clash for the UFC Lightweight title. However, it is to be seen if Makhachev beating Green will be enough to see the Dagestani move up to get a crack at the gold.
How did Bobby Green perform in his last fight?
The unranked UFC star put on quite a show in his last outing. He was up against Nasrat Haqparast and Green was not the favourite to win the bout.
However, the 35-year-old put on a clinical boxing display and defeated the German. This was Green’s 29th win in his MMA career and he is now on a two-fight winning streak. The American is now 29-12 in his career and has one draw as well. Green certainly caught the attention of many in his last fight and it will be interesting to see how he does against Makhachev.
The Dagestan star is 21-1 in his MMA career, and he will be a really tough test for the American.
