The Undertaker had an incredible winning Streak in WrestleMania over the years
The Undertaker will go down as one of the greatest WWE stars in the history of the business and his WrestleMania streak will also go down in the history books.
Mark Calaway made his debut in WWE in 1990 and took on the Undertaker gimmick, and hasn’t looked back since.
The 55-year-old has taken up various personas, such as the American Badass, during his time in WWE.
However, his Deadman routine will be the most remembered version of Taker. Paul Bearer coming out with an urn is something that most WWE fans from the 90s will remember too but the Streak is something legendary that has to be touched upon.
The greatest winning run in WrestleMania history
WrestleMania is the biggest wrestling event in the world and thousands flock to see the incredible match card.
Millions also see the PPV thanks to the growth in broadcast technology and the advent of the WWE Network has also helped a lot.
The Streak started at WrestleMania VII where Taker defeated the legendary Jimmy Snuka. Taker didn’t feature in all WrestleManias till date, due to injuries or not being involved in a storyline, but he has some of the greatest matches in WWE history on the grandest stage.
The Deadman has faced legends such as Jake Roberts, Triple H, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Edge, Batista and more.
His winning streak continued till WrestleMania 29 where he defeated CM Punk. That was 21 straight victories at the grandest stage of them all, and there was a shock to come later on.
Who ended Taker’s Streak?
Going 21-0 at WrestleMania is probably never going to be matched ever in the history of the business.
Many would have expected Taker to continue winning or even retire from WrestleMania competition with an incredible record.
However, the Streak was broken by one of the toughest men in the business. Brock Lesnar faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 and no one could believe what happened on that day.
The match lasted for almost half an hour before Lesnar broke the Streak by pinning Taker. He hit the legend with multiple F5s and left the fans all around the world shocked.
This was possibly the biggest result in WWE for years and not many could believe that the Deadman went 21-1 against Lesnar.
It might have been the best call to retire Taker’s record and keep it that way, but Taker has continued to come on WrestleManias since 30.
Taker has still lost at WrestleMania since then, to Roman Reigns, but there seems to be no stopping him from featuring on the grandest show on earth.
Taker is a legend in the business and always finds a way to come onto WrestleMania, however, the Streak will remain as one of the lasting legacies in the ring.
