The Twitch Hype Train feature was introduced on the platform back in 2020. Here is everything fans must know about the exciting feature on Twitch.
Despite all its issues, Twitch is still one of the leading platforms for streamers to showcase their work on. The credit for this partially goes to the different kinds of features on the platform. Twitch regularly introduces features to motivate creators to do better work, and the Twitch Hype Train is one such feature.
Twitch Hype Train was introduced on the Amazon-owned platform back in 2020, and has been going strong ever since. The feature allows fans to support their favorite streamer as a community. Here’s everything fans need to know about the Twitch Hype Train.
What is Twitch Hype Train?
The Twitch Hype Train is a “super-sized celebration when community members unite to support a streamer they love.” A Hype Train sparks off when various members of the community join in to show support to their favorite streamer in some way, be it subscriptions or bits. The feature also rewards participants for continuing the hype train for as long as possible.
Hype Trains start when there is a spike in the support events and it crosses the threshold set by the streamer themselves. Once the threshold is crossed, participants of the hype train can earn emote rewards for as long as the countdown goes on.
Levels and Rewards
A Twitch Hype Train can have several levels of difficulty, which is set by the streamer themselves. These levels include: Easy, Medium, Hard, Super Hard, and Insane. Streamers can set any one of the aforementioned levels for their hype train for fans to participate in.
Furthermore, streamers can also set a cooldown period for hype trains, wherein they can set a period of time between two hype trains on their stream. This can be anywhere between 1 to 8 hours, and solely depends on the streamer’s discretion.
Viewers who participate in hype trains can also get rewards for their participation. They earn emote rewards once the hype train gets over, depending on the level of the hype train they contribute to.
Furthermore, the highest contributing viewers will also receive a badge for being the ‘Hype Train Conductor’. These viewers will hold this badge till the next hype train.
Highest Hype Train record
Twitch previously had a cap on the number of levels on a hype train. However, that cap was removed later on so streamers could reach much higher levels. Recently, Kai Cenat broke the hype train record by achieving over 10,000 subscribers in four hours.
Cenat crossed Level 47 on the Hype Train, which is the highest level that has been achieved so far. The record for the highest subs was previously held by Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel.
