Brock Lesnar is one of the top stars in WWE but he has a decent record from his MMA days

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has dabbled in the world of MMA in between his wrestling career and holds a decent record in the Octagon.

The 42-year-old has a background in wrestling during his college days. He won gold in the NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling championship in his senior year (2000), and was the runner up in that division the year before.

Lesnar had an incredible record during his wrestling career in college and finished with 106 wins and five losses in his four years.

The American joined WWE in 2000 and was sent to the Ohio Valley Wrestling development territory.

He met Paul Heyman there and also formed a tag team with college friend Shelton Benjamin as they won several titles at OVW.

Lesnar had a huge surge in WWE and won several titles when he made his main roster debut, but he left the business to try his hand in MMA.

Brock Lesnar MMA record

The 42-year-old made his MMA debut at Dynamite!! USA and defeated Min-Soo Kim in the first round itself.

This was in 2007 and he joined the UFC a few months later. The 42-year-old, however, lost his first fight against legendary MMA star Frank Mir.

That didn’t hurt Lesnar’s confidence in the Octagon as he went on a four-fight winning streak. The 42-year-old picked up the UFC Heavyweight title in his third fight in the promotion by defeating Randy Coutoure.

Lesnar defended his title by defeating another top UFC star, Frank Mir. The Beast also defeated Shane Carwin in his next title defence but lost it to future WWE rival Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.

That was his last win in the UFC as he lost at UFC 141 against Alistair Overeem. This was his last fight for a while but he returned to the UFC in 2016.

It seemed that he was back to his best by defeating Mark Hunt at UFC 200, but that decision was overturned as Lesnar tested positive for a banned substance.

Lesnar finished his MMA career with a record of five wins, three losses and one no contest.

The American returned to WWE after his UFC stint and has won several titles since then.

Lesnar teases UFC return

The 42-year-old doesn’t feature regularly in WWE but he is one of the top stars in the promotion.

Lesnar had two stints in the UFC and has teased returning to the promotion while wrestling in WWE.

It will be interesting to see if The Beast ever considers making a return, given that he is over 40 and is enjoying a very nice run as WWE Champion.
