WWE star Ivar suffered a cervical injury while performing on Raw
WWE star and Viking Raiders member, Ivar, picked up a serious-looking cervical injury which feature on this week’s Raw.
Ivar and his partner, Erik, were part of an eight-man tag team match. They were partnered by Apollo Crews and Ricochet.
While the match was going on, Ivar went for his trademark Viking Dive and he cleared out several stars outside the ring.
However, the landing wasn’t great for the Viking Raider and he seemed really hurt. While it seemed that his ankle twisted in the landing, WWE provided a different message in it all.
A release from the company confirmed that Ivar had suffered a cervical injury while landing on the floor. However, it confirmed that the star was transported to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Cervical injuries can be serious and the landing looked a bit rough for Ivar. Fortunately, it seems that not a lot of damage was done.
WWE hasn’t confirmed how long Ivar will be out for and hopefully, he returns to action sooner rather than later.
As soon as Ivar hit the floor, you could see him putting up the “X” sign repeatedly. This is done to confirm that a wrestler has been injured and it isn’t a storyline.
This could also be a reason why the ending of the eight-man tag felt a bit rushed. The wrestling world has had its fair share of injuries and another one took place on AEW All Out recently.
Matt Hardy injured his head as he hit the concrete during a match against Sammy Guevara. The Woken One was checked on and allowed to resume the match later on.
Hardy won the clash in the end but this another reminder that wrestling can lead to serious injuries if the stars aren’t careful.
