The WWE Hall of Fame 2022 Induction Ceremony will take place on the same night and at the same venue as this week’s SmackDown
The 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Friday, April 1 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas as part of WrestleMania Week. WrestleMania SmackDown will also take place on the same date and at the same venue.
WWE has given the opportunity to the fans to watch two events at the price of one. The event will stream live exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and WWE Network everywhere else.
The Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled to start live at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT (Friday, April 1) | 2 AM GMT / 7:30 AM IST (Saturday, April 2), immediately after WrestleMania SmackDown finishes airing.
Who are the inductees in the Class of 2022?
The Class of 2022 is the 23rd class and the first inductee who was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame was Andre the Giant back in 1993.
The first name that was announced this year was the legendary Undertaker. WWE was pondering the idea of having The Phenom as the sole inductee in this year’s Hall of Fame. Incidentally, Andre the Giant was the sole inductee back in 1993.
WWE’s plans regarding having The Undertaker as the sole inductee didn’t come to fruition as they have later announced the names of Vader, Queen Sharmell, and the Steiner Brothers to join “The Deadman” in this year’s class.
Shad Gaspard has been posthumously named the recipient of the 2022 Warrior Award. Named after WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior, The Warrior Award is presented to an individual who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of The Ultimate Warrior.
The Undertaker will be inducted by Vince McMahon. Vader and Queen Sharmell will be inducted by Mick Foley and Booker T respectively. The Warrior Award will be accepted by Gaspard’s wife Siliana and son Aryeh.
