Toni Storm has reportedly parted ways with WWE. So what’s next for the former WWE star?
WWE Superstar Toni Storm has reportedly parted ways with WWE after she requested her release from the company, which was granted. She recently competed in a triple threat match for the SmackDown Women’s Champion at a Live Event in Washington DC.
According to the latest update from PWInsider, Storm flew herself home on Wednesday morning from Baltimore. The triple threat match went excellent, which suggest that nothing occurred during that time, which forced her to ask for release.
Next up for Toni Storm can be some other department, or she may be heading towards other promotions like AEW.
According to Cassidy Haynes of bodyslam.net, Toni Storm “straight-up flew herself home after working the triple threat last night and quit”. She also reported that she paid for the flight ticket from her own pocket.
“Turns out, Toni didn’t exactly request her release… she just up and quit. Worked a triple threat at a house show last night and then paid out of her own pocket to fly herself home.”
It will be interesting to see where she ends up from here, whether she has actually called it quits or something else going on.
Storm was on the road with WWE for post-holiday house shows where she has been wrestling matches with SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks.
She was first trained in Australia and then the UK. In 2009 she made her wrestling debut in Australia when she was only 13. Storm became the first-ever Progress Women’s Champion after beating Jinny and Laura Di Matteo in a triple threat match. Storm is a former NXT UK Women’s Championship.
