Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano finally ended their feud on NXT with a brutal battle
The end was just as shocking as the history behind Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano.
The best friends turned foes brought the house down in their final meeting, despite some shenanigans from Gargano’s wife Candice LeRae.
Putting all that aside, it felt like a chapter was finally closed between the two rivals. However, the big question is what is up next for both stars?
Triple H has said that this was their last fight on WWE NXT and there wouldn’t be another one, so one should surmise that one of them will move onto another brand.
Who goes where?
This is the tough bit to answer given that NXT has become the top place for quality wrestling. Most of the matches at Full Sail have been excellent and the fans also take the stars to heart.
There have been several instances of an NXT star moving to the roster of Raw or SmackDown and things not working out for them at all.
Ricochet is the biggest example of that but there have been several 205 Live stars that have been lost when moving the step up.
Gargano had some quality rivalries with Adam Cole and that could be something that WWE looks into. The Undisputed Era should make the move to one of the bigger brands and Gargano could follow them and make life hell for Cole.
Similarly, Gargano and LeRae both can move together onto another brand. There aren’t many real-life husband-wife couples going around in WWE, well, apart from Rusev and Lana.
Of course, WWE has to tread these waters carefully. They have botched the Rusev-Lana storyline extremely well and doing the same to Gargano and LeRae is more than possible.
Ciampa could also leave NXT and move to the opposite brand, and it will be interesting to see what kind of storyline WWE can take with him.
Ciampa to stay at NXT?
NXT and Ciampa go hand in hand and it would be a major surprise if he is to leave the brand. The Blackheart has spoken in the past of leaving a legacy behind with NXT being it for him.
His dream has been to pack an NXT TakeOver to the brim and that is something he can still achieve given the right storyline.
Moving him to Raw or SmackDown is risky given that he wouldn’t have the same presence as he has on NXT.
What is a given is that we have two of the toughest wrestlers in the business keen on doing well. Gargano and Ciampa may or may not meet each other in the wrestling ring again.
However, the pair can and will deliver epic matches irrespective of where they end up.
