During the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft that took place in 2010, the Baltimore Orioles selected Manny Machado in the first round, placing him third overall. When the draught took place, he was just 17 years old, but he was already considered one of the most promising possibilities in the draft class. On August 9, 2012, Machado made his first appearance in Major League Baseball with the Orioles. He soon established himself as one of the most promising young players in the sport.

Later on, Machado cemented his position as one of the best young players in the league throughout the course of the subsequent few seasons, during which he won a Gold Glove award in 2013 and was selected for the All-Star squad in both 2013 and 2015.
Machado’s stellar play continued into the 2016 Major League Baseball season, when he set a new career best with 37 home runs and finished in fifth place in the voting for American League MVP. He had a batting average of.259 in 2017, along with 33 home runs and 95 RBIs.

During the 2023 season, Machado hit 30 home runs for the fifth time in his career and drove in 100 runs for the third time in his career.
