Former UFC champion Holly Holm hasn’t fought since losing to Amanda Nunes at HFC 239. The 38-year-old was fighting for the Women’s Bantamweight title and was beaten in the first round itself.
Holm made it big a few years ago when she defeated Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 to win the Bantamweight title.
However, the American lost it in the next PPV to Miesha Tate, which was also her first loss in the UFC.
Holm has a great record in professional boxing too and had 33 wins before she made the jump to MMA.
The promotion holds its first PPV of 2020 with Holm set to fight Raquel Pennington.
UFC 246 also features some other big fights with Connor McGregor taking on Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis facing Carlos Diego Ferreira.
Hold facing Pennington was supposed to have taken place at UFC 243. However, the former champion pulled out due to a hamstring issue and the fight is not set for UFC 246.
The PPV will take place on 18 January at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. All eyes will be on how McGregor does as he is the main draw.
However, Holm is also a big attraction, and it will be interesting to see how she does against Pennington.
Holm has struggled since winning the title from Rousey. She stands 12-5 since beating the now WWE star.
The 38-year-old has also lost five of her last seven bouts, and need to turn things around in her UFC career soon.
