The 77th NBA regular season, which will feature 82 games per team, will begin on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, and end on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
The 2023 NBA Play-In Tournament will be held from Tuesday, April 11 to Friday, April 14, with the 2023 NBA Playoffs beginning on Saturday, April 15. The first game of the 2023 NBA Finals, is set to take place on Thursday, June 1.
NBA Schedule Overview
The regular season will kick off on Tuesday, Oct. 18, with a doubleheader on TNT, marking Turner Sports’ 39th year of NBA coverage. The Philadelphia 76ers will play the reigning Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics in the first game (7:30 p.m. ET). The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors will receive their championship.

The Philadelphia 76ers will open the regular season against the reigning Eastern Conference champions, the Boston Celtics. The defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, will face the Los Angeles Lakers in the second game.
The following day, on October 19, the Memphis Grizzlies will host the New York Knicks, with the second game being a rematch of a 2022 Western Conference semi-finals series between the Dallas Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns.
In an effort to encourage fans to vote, all 30 teams will play the day before Election Day in the United States. As a result, no games have been scheduled for Election Day, November 8.
For the 15th year in a row, five games will be played on Christmas Day later in the season. The NBA’s 75th season will begin on Christmas Day with the Knicks hosting the 76ers on ESPN.
NBA Global Games
The NBA Global Games will return for the 2022-23 season, with two regular-season games played outside of the United States and Canada.
The Heat will face the Spurs in the NBA Mexico City Game 2022 on Saturday, December 17 at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The Chicago Bulls will face the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Paris Game 2023 on Thursday, January 19 at the Accor Arena in Paris.
The final day of the regular season, scheduled for Sunday, April 9, 2023, will feature all 30 teams.
