Khabib has fought several big names in his UFC career so far, and is yet to taste defeat. The Russian is 28-0 in his MMA career and has lost just one round in his professional career too.

He started his career in his homeland of Russia and made it to the UFC in 2012. Khabib has a background in wrestling, and that has helped him dominate most of his opponents in MMA.

Nurmagomedov has also made several rivals in the Octagon, and his next fight is set to be a huge one.

When did Khabib last fight?

The UFC Lightweight champion last faced Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 where he defended and unified the title.

This clash took place on 7 September 2019 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Prior to this clash, the champion beat Conor McGregor at UFC 229, which can be considered as one of his greatest wins.

McGregor submitted to Khabib in the fourth round, but there was a brawl after that clash. Both fighters were handed punishments for their involvement in that clash, and it will be interesting to see if they meet in the future.

There is a lot of controversy regarding Khabib and his next fight in the UFC. He is supposed to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 249, but the coronavirus pandemic might have put that on the shelf.

UFC 249 was supposed to take place in the US on 18 April, but Khabib isn’t in the country.

Khabib is stuck in Russia and there are travel bans in place in the US and his home country. On top of that, Dana White has constantly stated that the fight will go on.

White also has to rework on the fight card given that some may not be able to make it, and there is no confirmation of where the fight will take place either.

Khabib vs Ferguson has been earmarked four times in the past. However, each of those clashes has been called off for one reason or another.

Some in the MMA business also believe that the fight is cursed, and if this clash is also called off, then that could be true.
