UFC star Colby Covington claimed that he’s currently at the peak of his MMA game and fans are now curious to know which gym ‘Chaos’ train at
Colby Covington managed to grind a decision win against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. The American fighter went the distance with his former best friend and came out on top as the judges scored the fight scores of 49-46, 50-44 and 50-45 in favour of Covington.
Prior to the fight, ‘Chaos’ admitted that he was in the best form of his life and vowed to show the world his full potential as a fighter. While he did get the victory over Masvidal in a rather tense battle, Covington claimed that it wasn’t his best fight.
With Covington still not at his best, by his own admission, and getting a decision going his way speaks volumes on how much he still has to offer in the Octagon. Even UFC fans were keen to know where the 34-year-old trains to get his physical and mental strength.
Covington currently trains at the MMA Masters in Miami, Florida. The MMA Masters gym Masters is renowned to be the home for some of the top UFC fighters apart from Covington. Martial arts veteran Ricardo Lamas, and the always entertaining Nate Landwehr have been affiliated with the gym.
Under the guidance of coaches Daniel Valverde and Cesar Carneiro, Covington himself has stated that he has improved in leaps and bounds in terms of striking.
‘Chaos’ previously was a trainee at the ATT gym for nine years. However, he left the gym acrimoniously in May 2020 after a bitter spat with some of its top fighters at the training camp including Masvidal, Dustin Poirier and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
After beating Masvidal, Covington has certainly put himself in the driver’s seat for a third rematch against Kamaru Usman for the title. Colby last faced Usman in November 2021 and went the distance but suffered defeat against the Nigerian via decision. He had previously lost to Usman via TKO in 2019.
