Sky performed for several independent promotions in her career, making her debut in 2003 and part of The Beautiful People stable in TNA. She got a lot of praise from the fans and experts for her promo skills and character representation during TNA Knockouts.

She made her retirement on July 6, 2016, but not from pro-wrestling as a whole as she would still make some appearances. Sky returned to in-ring action at Ring of Honor in 2019, but after performing some stints, she was soon removed from ROH. Last year in March, Sky made her NWA debut as a new colour commentator working beside Joe Galli and Tim Storm and is currently doing that only.

Velvet Sky revealed why she was never hired by WWE

A few years back, Sky spoke to the Press Slam podcast (H/t Sportskeeda), where she revealed why she was never hired by WWE and their stable The Beautiful People were never roped in by WWE. She also pointed out that the feeling is mutual, and Sky also doesn’t wanna go to WWE since they will create their own version of what is already out there.

Sky also revealed that during her team’s prime in TNA, WWE chose to create their own version of The Beautiful people in the form of “LayCool.”

“Back when we were still in TNA, it was LayCool, and now it is the IIconics.”It’s the same kind of mean, “I’m better than you”, the whispering, the pointing, the laughing, the humiliating. I mean, especially in the middle of our Beautiful People peak, they created LayCool. So they were kinda doing the similar antics, the humiliating the girls, the heel role.”
