Robin Roberts is a 62-year-old American television broadcaster, who was born on November 23, 1960, in Tuskegee, Alabama.
Roberts graduated cum laude in 1983 from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, where she pursued a degree in communication. She chose the university over Louisiana State University because she found it more suitable.

With a career-high average of 27.6 points per game, Roberts left a remarkable impact on the team. In recognition of her achievements, Southeastern retired her jersey number 21 in a ceremony on February 5, 2011.
She began her broadcasting career in 1983 at WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She later worked at WLOX-TV in Biloxi and WSMV-TV in Nashville. In 1990, she joined ESPN as a sportscaster and gained popularity with her catchphrase, “Go on with your bad self!”
Roberts transitioned to ABC News in 1995, contributing to Good Morning America. She became co-anchor of the show in 2005, alongside George Stephanopoulos. Their partnership helped GMA regain its position as the top-rated morning show in April 2012.
She showcased her reporting skills during emotional coverage of Hurricane Katrina’s impact on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including her hometown of Pass Christian. Additionally, she hosted the Academy Awards preshow for ABC in 2009 and 2011.
Roberts was told that she had early-stage breast cancer in 2007. In January 2008, she underwent surgery and finished her chemotherapy. Her diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in 2012 led to a leave of absence from GMA so she could have a bone marrow transplant.
She came back in 2013 and was honoured with a Peabody Award for bringing attention to her illness. For her inspirational journey, Roberts also won the Sager Strong Award and the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
Robin Roberts recently posted a video to Instagram that she is on vacation. She urged her viewers to start the month of June off well in the video. Amber, Robin’s fiancée, joined her as she expressed thanks for the road that brought them together.
