The 2022 Austrian GP is just around the corner, but which driver has the most F1 wins at the Red Bull Ring?
The Austrian GP takes place this weekend from July 8th – 10th. This will be the 11th race of the 2022 season and as F1 continues following a sensational British GP last weekend. But fans on social media are curious to know which driver has the most wins at the Austrian GP?
Most wins by a driver at the Austrian GP
Max Verstappen, Alain Prost and Joseph Siffert are tied with the most number of wins at the Austrian GP. The three of those drivers have won the Austrian GP a record 3 times each. However, Verstappen can write his name into the history books and pip the other two if the Red Bull star gets a win this weekend. Verstappen also came out victorious at the Red Bull Ring twice last year as there were two races held in the Styrian Hills due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ronnie Peterson, Alan Jones, Mika Häkkinen, Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas have also each won the Austrian GP twice.
In terms of the Constructors, McLaren and Ferrari are tied with 6 wins each at the Austrian GP. However, neither of those two teams have tasted victory at the Red Bull Ring since 2003. Mercedes have had 5 wins at the Austrian GP but Red Bull have won it on the last 3 occasions.
