Metacritic often gives a rating for the WWE games. Let us know more about the highest-rated WWE game
Wrestling Games are one of the best combat sports simulators that have been really well received by fans worldwide. These shows are much about theatrics, cool entrances, soap opera style drama and in-ring action.
These wrestling games are rated by Metacritic to see if the genre’s fan favourites received the critical acclaim they deserved. Recently Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics posted a photo on Twitter showing all the Metacritic ratings for WWE console games since 2002.
The graph shows that SmackDown Shut Your Mouth has a Metascore of 82, released on Playstation 2 in 2002 and was also the first time the series adopted the World Wrestling Entertainment banner.
WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2006 comes in the 2nd best position in Metascore with 83 points. This game was also released on Play Station 2 and the PSP. However, it was the last game to release exclusively on Sony Consoles and the first game to feature General Manager Mode.
The game with the highest Metascore was none other than SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain with a score of 85. It was released in 2003 on PlayStation 2. This console game is considered one of the greatest wrestling games ever created.
However, the WWE 2K game WWE 2K20 scored the lowest Metascore with 43 points. So the game was not received well.
The new console game of WWE 2K, which will be released tomorrow, is yet to be rated by Metacritic. However, it will be one of the Superhit games as it features fantastic graphics, the new MyRise mode, General Manager mode and much more.
It will be interesting to see if this game can break the boundaries and finally go past Here Comes the pain.
