The European Championship this summer is the chance for the leading teams in Europe to win major glory. 24 teams begin the competition on June 14, and they will be bidding to win the 17th edition of the tournament.
Here is a look at the teams with the best chance of success in Germany.
England
The bookmakers make England the +300 favorites in the Euro 2024 odds and when you look at the depth manager Gareth Southgate has at his disposal, it is easy to see why. The 2020 runners-up have been knocking on the door for major glory, and this may be the year they finally win a big trophy.
England cruised to qualification with six wins and two draws from their eight matches. They are ahead of France and Germany in the Euro 2024 winner betting, with those two nations available at +375 and +500 respectively.

It's another trophyless season at club level for Harry Kane despite some serious numbers… 😔 pic.twitter.com/EK68OiOhGX
Southgate is fortunate to have one of the hottest strikers in world football available to him this summer. Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane has scored over 40 goals in all competitions this season. The England skipper will be hoping to continue his form in front of goal in the international tournament.
France
In three of the last four major tournaments, France has reached the final at the very least. They were victorious at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, while at Euro 2016 and the 2022 World Cup, they finished as the runners-up.

INSANE season for Mbappé 🤯⚽ pic.twitter.com/uM0PCGK01y
Didier Deschamps oversaw the team throughout that period, and he remains the head coach. His team is captained by Kylian Mbappe, who is arguably at the peak of his career, and he may be set for a big tournament ahead of his move to Real Madrid.
France was unbeaten in their qualifying campaign for Euro 2024, winning seven and drawing one of their eight ties. They have some of the finest attacking talent in Europe, including Ousmane Dembele, Kingsley Coman, and Antoine Griezmann.
Spain
Three-time European Championship winners Spain are bidding for their first success in this tournament since 2012. Head coach Luis de la Fuente has made a strong start to the job, as he led his team to Nations League glory in 2023, beating Croatia in the final. He has won eight of his opening 12 games in charge.
The majority of Spain’s squad features for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Rodri (Manchester City,), Joselu (Barcelona), Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), and Marco Asensio (PSG). They will be expected to qualify from a group that includes Albania, Croatia, and Italy. Once they are in the knockout stage, they will be a threat to any team left in the competition.
Germany
France were the last hosts to win the European Championship on home soil when they prevailed in 1984. Germany will be hoping their home supporters can lift them to tournament success this summer.
Germany has failed to get past the group stage at the last two World Cup tournaments, while at Euro 2020, they were eliminated in the last 16 by England. Many pundits believe Julian Nagelsmann’s side is heading in the right direction, and recent victories over France and the Netherlands strengthen that claim.
The final of Euro 2024 takes place on July 14 in Berlin and it will be the 51st and final game of the tournament in Germany.
