Amanda Nunes has been stopped twice in the UFC – Who has ‘The Lioness’ lost to?
Amanda Nunes is arguably (if not) the greatest women’s mixed martial artist of all time. Having made her UFC debut in August 2013, the Brazilian quickly rose through the ranks to become the bantamweight champ in July 2016.
She then began an unstoppable reign, demolishing big names on her path to innumerable title defenses.
At UFC 232, Nunes beat Cris Cyborg to win the women’s featherweight belt – going on to become a two-division champ.
At one point, it looked like Nunes would never be stopped, before she met Julianna Pena at UFC 269. Pena, a massive underdog, submitted Nunes in the second round to produce one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.
That, was Nunes’ second UFC loss. Her first loss in the UFC came early on in her career in September 2014.
At UFC 178 in September 2014, Amanda Nunes lost to Cat Zingano via. TKO in the third round.
Nunes was coming off a TKO win over Germaine de Randamie at UFC: Fight for the Troops 3 in November 2013. She had a record of 2-0 in the promotion coming into the fight.
It was only after this, Nunes turned it around. She went on a 7 year, 12-fight unbeaten streak before being stopped by Pena.
Zingano, meanwhile, surprisingly went on a skid and has never really recovered from the same. The opponents Zingano lost to were – Ronda Rousey, Julianna Pena and Ketlen Vieira.
