Cal Bloom has already featured on SmackDown in a losing cause
Cal Bloom might not be a name that many remember from recent WWE shows. The son of former WWE and WCW star Wayne Bloom signed a contract with WWE in 2019 along with a few others.
Cal has been trained at the Performance Center and it seems there are great things expected from him.
Paul Davis of Wrestling News has spoken with several people in WWE, and they have had rave reviews for the youngster.
One WWE source said that he reminds people of a “young Edge”. The source also claimed that Vince McMahon believes Cal can be a great star in the future and a lot of things are expected from him.
The 25-year-old has been trained by his father and some other former WWE stars, and it will be interesting to see how he develops in the coming months.
He has featured on some house shows on NXT, but his real calling came recently on SmackDown.
It might have been a blink and miss segment with Sheamus taking on Cal Bloom. The Celtic Warrior faced off against the second-generation star a few weeks back on SmackDown.
Suffice to say, it was Sheamus that picked up the easy win but Bloom did make his debut on SmackDown.
Sheamus might have been the big story there as he continued his destructive ways, however, Cal could be seen more on WWE TV.
The youngster did play college football before joining WWE, and the report adds that McMahon believes Cal has the looks and movement to be a top star in the ring, though he needs time.
Some sources in the report also suggested that Cal could main event shows in a couple of years.
WWE is a tough business to crack, especially with so many stars trying to make a name. Cal does have wrestling pedigree on his side, and hopefully, he shows his potential in the coming weeks.
